Midalver was born to a single mother who lived in a brothel on a small island in the Ruby Sea. He was raised by his mother and the 8 other ladies of the house (who Mid regards as his mothers) until he was a pre-teen. His surrogate mothers all looked after him and he learned how to be respectful and caring because of them. He was encouraged to gain worldly experience by traveling, so he joined the crew of a pirate ship that would visit the brothel whenever they were in port. As decent sailors who could be trusted, Midalver set off with them.He worked as a deckhand and learned songs, and how to use various instruments as they visited many ports, so the young boy would entertain the crew with his performing. Eventually he would learn to shoot a bow and become an excellent enough marksman, that his job would shift to being a sniper in the crows nest of the ship. Once Mid was an adult, his wanderlust began to take over and he decided to become an adventurer, and choose a path of his own. With the captain (who regarded Mid as a son) and the crews blessings, he departed and arrived in New Gridania.Since then, he’s spent his years traveling, helping others, taking on dangerous jobs, performing music for coin and experiencing what the world has to offer. He would see his old crew every now and then, and would take time to travel to his home island to see his many mothers, making sure they were well and taking care to correct any out of line clients.
